I personally don't see any competition there. I'm a huge Vox lover, but there is a definitely undeniable sound from a cranked champ that is synonymous with blues, especially if you've got a Gibson guitar you can put through it. Telecaster would also work.

They do one thing (and very beautiful clean sound). if you like that 50s farty rattle-y thing, they do it really well in my opinion.
