Seed crystallization process
WebThe seed material is obtained from the waste stream of highly concentrated brine. In this way, the unstable, supersaturated solids precipitate on the seed particles, rather than on the surfaces of the vessels and piping. The particulate matter is eventually allowed to settle in a reactor-clarifier vessel.

WebJun 23, 2015 · Seed crystals are suspended in the circulating concentrate stream. Owing to the precipitation of calcium carbonate on the seed, the hardness and total dissolved solids of the concentrate are reduced and higher recovery rates are achieved, thereby facilitating concentrate disposal and reuse. WebCrystallization proceeds through a series of interdependent mechanisms that are each uniquely influenced by the choice of process parameters: nucleation, growth, oiling out, agglomeration, breakage, seeding and polymorph transition. Often, these mechanisms occur simultaneously, making effective crystallization design a challenge.
WebFine seed crystals are added, and the sugar “ mother liquor” yields a solid precipitate of about 50 percent by weight crystalline sugar. Crystallization is a serial process. The first … Web1 day ago · Then the seeded layer is inter-grown to a continuous film in zeolite synthesis sol. A calcination process to remove organic molecules from the micropores of the zeolite framework completes the zeolite membranes fabrication. Continuous zeolite films can be developed through the intergrowth of individual zeolite seed crystals at the seed layer.
WebThe crystallization process requires an initiation step, such as the addition of a "seed" crystal. In the laboratory, a minuscule fragment of glass, produced by scratching the side of the glass recrystallization vessel, may provide the nucleus on which crystals may grow.
